about Our winery

"Crafting timeless flavors rooted in family and community."

Welcome to Little Oak Winery, where tradition and passion meet to create exceptional wines. Our creation developed from two Smothers brothers, Stephen and John, who utilized their unique but compatible talents for producing exceptional results.

Our Story begins with the brothers being raised on the picturesque Triple S Farms, nestled in the heart of the countryside, where they learned the basics of farming and fermentation.

John’s early years were steeped in the rich traditions of farming. Guided by his father, Wayne, he learned the timeless wisdom of cultivating the earth and nurturing its bountiful treasures.

As John’s life progressed, he and his father, Wayne, worked together in the transportation industry but they always maintained a farm and share their produce with family and friends.

When Wayne retired, he started a small vineyard to have the grapes to make some homemade wine which was tradition in the countryside where he grew up. Before being able to harvest enough grapes to make his wine, Wayne passed away.

At the next harvest cycle John approached his brother, Stephen, to see if he remembered how to make wine like their father taught them.  Stephen did and agreed to make a batch from the grapes in memory of their father. He crafted a five gallon batch and aged it to perfection. This was shared with friends and family who were very receptive to the flavor.

Stephen soon discovered a talent for crafting unique and exquisite wines. He carefully blended flavors and experimented with aging techniques, resulting in a collection of specialty wines that delighted the palates of his friends and family. The demand for these creations grew steadily, as more and more people were captivated by the distinct character and quality of these wines.

Driven by a desire to share his passion with the world, Stephen realized that their small-batch production was no longer enough to meet the demand. Working with his wife, Sonya, son, Thomas and brother, John, they dreamt of a place where they could bring their winemaking expertise to a larger audience. And so, the idea of Little Oak Winery was born.

With unwavering determination, the family team set out to build a commercial facility that would serve as the birthplace of their dreams. They found the perfect location, nestled among the rolling hills, where the little oak trees stood tall, symbolizing strength, resilience, and the rooted connection to their land.

The construction of the winery was a labor of love, with every detail carefully considered. The facility was designed to merge rustic charm with modern sophistication, creating a welcoming ambiance for visitors to experience the magic of winemaking. From the moment you step foot into Little Oak Winery, you are transported into a world where tradition meets innovation.
